Good to know

Tickets are equally valid for regional trains, S and U-Bahn, buses and trams and can be obtained in so called traffic centers (DB) (->Potsdam Main Station), ticket automates or from the bus driver. You will have to stamp your ticket if you enter the train platform or when you enter the bus/tram. In Potsdam you will usually need a region A (city) ticket, but in order to get to the campus Golm you will need a region AB  60 minutes ticket.  Berlin region ABC tickets are also valid for Potsdam city (A). 

Transfer from and to airports

If you arrive at the airport Berlin-Schönefeld, you will have a 10minutes walk to the DB trains station to take the hourly train to Potsdam Hbf. A timetable can be downloaded here (pdf): Schoenefeld to Potsdam by train.

But from Berlin-Tegel  you will have to take the bus 109 and change to train (RE or S)  at stop Charlottenburg or you take the bus X9  and change to train at stop Zoologischer Garten.  A timetable for all mentioned RE connections can be downloaded here (pdf): Tegel to Potsdam by bus+train.

 

Transfer from Potsdam city to the symposium venue

If you start close to the Potsdam Main Station (Potsdam Hbf),  the easiest and fastest way is to take the regional train and get out at station Golm. From train station Golm its just a 5minutes walk (map).  You may download the timetable (pdf): Potsdam to Golm by train

In order to enjou a more touristic view on Potsdam city including many stops, you may choose to take the bus Nr. 605/6. The timetable is (pdf)  Potsdam to Golm by bus (region AB).

Get home after the dinner at the Mövenpick restaurant

This may a nice late summer evening walk, or you you can take the bus (Potsdam to Sanssouci by bus , region A) or tram.
